The Ashcombe is a high-back chair with a timber frame that shows. Two walnut-tone uprights frame the green upholstered back, with a separate headrest section at the top marked by a single button. A capped top rail runs behind the headrest.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame, dark walnut tone, with the back panel set into it and the headrest section mounted above the main back. The outer back is upholstered in two panels either side of a central timber spine, so a damaged panel can be replaced on its own. The seat is a deep upholstered cushion on a pan, piped at the edge, on tapered square legs.
Where it works. Fine-dining rooms, hotel restaurants, Chinese restaurants with private rooms and club dining. The tall back gives each place setting presence around round tables.
Options. Upholstery in any contract vinyl or leather; frame in walnut, natural or black; button or plain headrest. For banquet layouts with large rounds, check chair width against the circumference: a 72 in (183 cm) round typically seats 8 to 10 chairs of this width.
