The Easton is the cane-back side chair at its simplest: one framed panel of natural woven cane in a rounded dark walnut-tone frame, a padded seat in a soft blush-pink leatherette, and four round tapering legs with a rounded-end rail. Nothing is added that does not do a job.
What you see. A flat-fronted three-quarter view on a floor: the cane panel is set into a routed channel along the back, and the upholstered seat sits proud of a timber seat rail with round-capped corner posts.
Why it works in a restaurant. The cane keeps the back light, so a room full of these doesn't read as a wall of chair backs. The seat is the only part that wears, and it is a drop-in pad that can be re-covered. The solid frame is finished in a dark stain that hides scuffs.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame, glued and screwed; cane webbing in a routed frame; plywood seat pan with high-resilience foam; contract vinyl or fabric.
Where it works. Cafés, bistros, hotel breakfast rooms and casual dining.
Options. Stain, seat color and material (COM and COL accepted), glide type.
