The Lowell is a clean, rectilinear side chair that puts a panel of natural cane webbing into a slim solid-oak frame. It brings natural texture into rooms that are otherwise heavy on upholstery, so the room breathes, and it is drawn to dimensions that suit a standard 30 in table.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame in a light smoked-oak finish, with 1.2 in (3 cm) square members. The cane back is stretched into a framed panel; the seat cushion is a removable upholstered pad, so a stained seat can be swapped without touching the frame. Corner blocks are glued and screwed into the seat frame.
Why the removable seat matters. In commercial use, seats get stained long before frames wear out. A removable cushion turns a recovering job into a simple swap and lets you change the room's color later without buying new chairs.
Where it works. Cafes, all-day dining, hotel restaurants and bright bistro interiors. It pairs with the Lowell Cane-Back Stool for counter seating.
Options. Smoked oak, natural or walnut finish; seat in bouclé, contract fabric, vinyl or COM; welt in contrast or matching color.
