The Corbel uses one bent stainless tube to do two jobs: it runs up from each front leg, sweeps around the back of the sitter as an arm rail, and carries a curved walnut plywood back band fixed along its inside. The legs splay slightly, and the seat is a round, deep pad in black leather or vinyl.
What you see. A rear three-quarter view on white. The tube ring is visible all the way round, with small bolts fixing the back band; the seat sits on a tube frame between the legs.
Why it works. The ring gives the comfort of an armchair with very little visual bulk. In a room it reads as lighter than an upholstered armchair while giving guests something to hold when they sit down and stand up.
Where it works. Modern bistros, wine bars, hotel restaurants and Nordic-style cafés.
Construction. Brushed stainless or chrome-plated steel tube, molded multi-layer plywood back band in walnut veneer, plywood seat pan with high-resilience foam, floor glides. Arm height is checked against your table apron on the drawing.
Options. Frame finish, back veneer, seat material and color.
